Happy First Day!

We had a terrific first day of school! What a great bunch of kiddos. Here is just a little peek at our classroom and a few of the things we did today.


We started the day off by reading First Day Jitters (a first day must!). We discussed the fact that all of have "jitters" on our first day of school, even teachers! Later we enjoyed some Jitter Juice (thanks Mrs. Mullins). The bubbles helped take the butterflies and jitters away. :)

 We also read "Lily's Purple Plastic Purse". I shared my own purple plastic purse with the students. It was full of objects that helped the students learn more about me. Tomorrow the students will create their own purple plastic bags. They will fill their bags with items to describe them.

Here is a quick peek at our classroom. We can think of ourselves like a band with 19 members who all bring different talents and skills to the group!

Meet Mrs. Lewis

Welcome to third grade! I am so excited to start an exciting learning adventure with you! I can't wait to get to know you. I am sure you are wondering a little bit about your third grade teacher.

My husband's name is Travis. We've been married for three year. 

We live in Butler with our dog Cali.

Cali is the dog on the bottom. He is cuddling with his cousin Nitanee.

I grew up in a very little town called Brookville with my mom, dad, and brother Brent. My brother is married and this summer they had a little boy (Seth). I am so excited to be an aunt!
